London, UK. Leading independent research and advisory firm Verdantix has announced the 19 finalists for its 2023 EHS Innovation Excellence Awards Americas. The annual awards recognize outstanding achievements in EHS, ESG, Sustainability and Operations. They spotlight organizations and individuals who utilize innovative technology to drive positive change by increasing safety and enhancing sustainability.

The 2023 awards programme includes categories for pioneering companies, individuals who are inspiring the next generation of EHS leaders, and initiatives that contribute to a positive impact on the world. The 2023 finalists are:

  • Social Impact Award – Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) and Lear Corporation 
  • Worker Wellbeing & Ergonomics – Mitsubishi Cement Corporation and University of California

Additionally, the prestigious EHS Rising Star award will be unveiled during the awards ceremony, celebrating the promising career of a young individual who has already made a demonstrable impact on their organization.

The EHS Innovation Excellence Awards Americas 2023 are appraised by a distinguished group of independent industry experts renowned for their extensive expertise in the domains of EHS, Sustainability and Operational Excellence. Carla Davis-Madgett, a former VP in EHS at Boeing and Shell, brings a wealth of knowledge derived from her global-scale experience in safety and business operations, particularly within high-risk industries. John Dony, serving as VP of Workplace Safety at the National Safety Council, offers his valuable insights gained during his tenure leading impactful initiatives on emerging topics and issues that matter to safety and health leaders. Malcolm Staves, Global VP of Health & Safety at L’Oréal, has established strategies aimed at globalizing health and safety practices, emphasizing risk management, visible leadership and a profound commitment to placing people at the heart of the safety equation. Together with Bill Pennington, Verdantix VP, Research, the panel will have the challenging task of selecting the most innovative and impactful entries as award-winners.
